Update: Intel Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake Desktop CPUs will Use LGA-1851 Socket

In the last post, MLID said Intel will use LGA-2551 socket for Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake desktop processors, now it turns out this 2551-pin version could be a BGA variant for other series, but as leaked today, it will probably not be used for a desktop LGA socket. The 14th Gen Meteor Lake and 15th Gen Arrow Lake will use LGA-1851 socket.

LGA-1851 measures 45 × 37.5 mm, it is same as LGA1700/1800 for Alder/Raptor Lake series. This means cooler compatibility will be preserved. Intel 14th Gen Meteor Lake is expected to be released in the Q4 of 2023, and 15th Gen Arrow Lake is expected to be released in the second half of 2024.
