According to latest rumors from ECSM, the upcoming 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S Refresh desktop processor is set to be launched in mid-October, around October 17 to October 23.

According to the typical launch schedule for Intel desktop CPUs in recent years, the Core-K and non-K models will be released separately. The non-K models are expected to be launched during the first week of 2024, which aligns with the possibility of another CES launch.

In terms of platform support, the Refresh CPUs will be compatible with all existing LGA1700 motherboards that have the latest BIOS, with the exception of one processor. The upcoming Core i7-14700K is rumored to feature a new configuration of 8 Performance cores and 12 Efficient cores, which may require a new firmware for optimal performance.

According to ECSM, there is information about Intel’s upcoming desktop platform known as Arrow Lake. This new architecture is expected to bring significant updates to the Intel desktop series, featuring fresh designs and a different socket (potentially LGA-1851). The report includes possible motherboard chipsets such as Intel Z890, B860, and H810, while hinting that the H870 chipset won’t be part of this release. Interestingly, this aligns Intel’s consumer Core product naming and platform with AMD, with Core 3/5/7/9 being matched against Ryzen 3/5/7/9 and Z890/B860/H810 paired with X670/B650/B620.

What’s worth noting is that the same media outlet reported last year that the 13th Gen Core, codenamed “Raptor Lake,” would launch in mid-October following a planned September reveal. As it turned out, this information was accurate, which may give enthusiasts a sense of familiarity, as Intel appears to be following a very similar yearly update cycle with this Refresh.

From ECSM:

Raptor Lake Refresh CPU timing is gradually becoming clear. The K series will be in 2023 WW42, and non-K will be in 2024 WW1, with a high probability of CES.
The new configuration of 8P+12E I mentioned before, the high probability is 14700K.
The existing BIOS of each board factory can basically turn on RPL Refresh directly, except for the new 8P+12E.
Arrow Lake has no update time point, and the matching chipset is Z890 B860 H810. It seems that there will be no H870 this time.
The opposite Storm Peak will be in 2023 Q4, and there will be two new chipsets with this CPU.
There is a high probability that Zen5 this year is fake news, and it is an extreme fan YY.
Originally, AMD had other materials, but after thinking about it, I deleted it, so let’s have fun secretly as soon as possible.
